Understanding Begins with Explanation
Repetition is undoubtedly a crucial step in learning, and our app’s individual playlists facilitate this perfectly. However, the first and most important step is to comprehend the content you’re learning. Nobel Prize-winning physicist Richard Feynman emphasized that understanding begins with explanation. His technique suggests that by explaining a concept, you lay the foundation for deeper learning.
The principle of learning by teaching is a key feature of our basic app.

THE BSL LEARNING CYCLE
- Initial Reading For optimal results, read through your material at least once. It’s crucial to try and understand the content during this first reading.
- Explanation in your own words. One of the key principles of our app is that explaining a concept helps solidify your understanding. This approach constitutes 50% of your learning success.
- Repetition for reinforcement. The second fundamental aspect is repetition. The more you revisit the material, the better your retention.
- Reduce Content: Cut down your study material by figuring out what you know and what you don’t.
- Create new explanations if necessary: Sometimes, it’s beneficial to create a new, shorter, and more effective explanation of the material. This will further enhance understanding and recall.”
A BSL-BOOK IS NO AUDIOBOOK, EVEN WHEN YOU USE IT SIMILARLY
Our Books: Designed for Learning, Not Just Listening
1. Difference: An Audibook has no funnel system
Audiobooks aren’t the best for learning because it’s hard to go back and repeat parts in a long, 8-hour recording. Our books are different. We split them into chapters and even smaller parts, so you can make playlists of just the bits you need to go over again.
2. Difference: An Audiobook is not visual
With a bsl book you have all your graphics, diagrams and scrips with you. You can check it visually everytime when you want. You can also annotate them.
3. An Audiobook is not interactive and haptic
By selecting the learning sequences for your playlist, by annotating your scripts directly you have a lot to do all the time. Sounds funny, but brings more interactivity in all this learning then just hearing.
